Wheatland Fire Protection District was voted in by the communities of Pheasant Trail Estates and Harvest Vista Subdivision in August. After the vote was tallied we contacted the Idaho Survey and Rating Bureau for the inspection of our water delivery system at the hydrants, our volunteer fire fighter roster, dispatching, and our engine and equipment. We received notification from the ISRB that we will enjoy the benefit of a class 5 fire protection classification rating starting on January 1, 2008. Please notify your insurance agency for your homeowners policy as to the new fire classification rating. Since that time we have purchased a second engine that we will try and get into service for next summer so we can start to solicit for mutual aid contracts with other surrounding agencies. Stay tuned for further updates.

Pheasant Trail Estates and Harvest Vista Addition are the only 2 communities in the area that have the benefit of a Public Water System in place to supply water flow and have storage capacity to meet the criteria set by the Fire Marshall’s office for fire protection. The dedicated fire flow of 1000 gallons per minute is supplied to the fire hydrants within the community. The storage capacity of 120,000 gallons of dedicated fire flow is on hand if an emergency arises. This is above and beyond the Maximum Daily Demand criteria that is stipulated by Idaho Department of Environmental Quality for our potable water supply.
